If you'd prefer to use your Master Password as often as possible, you might consider enabling PIN unlocking and setting "Require Master Password" in Settings > Advanced > Security to an acceptable time frame (say 1 hour or so – whatever you're comfortable with). I don't want to get too deep into the technical weeds here (unless you're interested, of course), but the short version is that the extension needs your Master Password to unlock.Ī quick Google makes it sound like your iPad Air supports Touch ID, so using Touch ID in lieu of your Master Password might be a good choice if you're okay with that. When you don't have either of those enabled, that secret isn't stored and thus can't be used to unlock the extension. When you use one of those two options, we store your unlock secret in the Secure Enclave so that the extension can unlock using that secret. This is actually expected behavior when you don't have Touch ID or PIN unlock enabled.
